The Arc de Triomphe (Triumphal Arch)

In 1616 Marie de Médicis turned the place into a fashionable driveway with the help of André Le Notre who landscape the area. It became a memorial to French army in 1806 in the same year Jean Chalgrin designed the said arc.

When we arrived in Paris we passed the region Louvre and Champs-Élysées. The Arc de Triomphe is set in the roundabout so since we are in the car and parking is hard to find we took the opportunity to go round twice in the arc to takes some photographs. Even though it’s hard to take photographs whilst the car is moving we still manage to take some nice shoots.

Aside from Eiffel Tower the most visited attractions in Paris, France. The Arc de Triomphe is famous monument and Paris famous tourist attraction as well. And travellers should not miss to visit and see every detail on the monument. Don’t forget “It’s FREE to wander”.

Walking in Paris

Our Pearl

Everyone knows that Paris is one of the biggest and busiest cities in the world.

The best way to explore Paris is to walk in and around the city. It's good exercises and no euros wasted for travelling. If you're not in the mood of walking.

Well there are other options to explore the entire city. You can go for skating, bicycling and velotaxi for cheap and Eco-friendly experience, buses, métro, taxi, car and etc for long journey.

Paris is accessible city. Métro and bus stops are everywhere and you can hop anytime you want.

My Advice: When the weather is glorious walking is the best thing to do and it’s free. It’s more enjoyable to walk than going to Métro.

Travel Tips: BEWARE of Pickpockets operates every where. Make sure you keep eye on your belonging.

When it comes to fashion LV is the most famous initials in fashion world with beige and brown chequered pattern interlaced the initials (LV Monogram)  most products ranging from leather goods, luxury trunks to clothing, shoes, accessories, watches, jewellery and sunglasses.

Wedding photoshoot in Eiffel Tower Paris

Seriously speaking these Japanese couple took our attention when we leave the Eiffel tower. I took this photo at Parc du Champ de Mars. The photographer is facing the iconic tower which behind the couple to captured perfect angle.

 

The bride looks stunning and the groom looks very smart. The dress and the suit they wore look very expensive in my eyes. How much more the cost of the wedding in Paris? Must be dead expensive! They take travelling seriously, aren’t they?

I’ve heard few love stories of couples going to Paris for engagement, honeymoon, climbing up the top of the tower and made promises to each other and etc. I confess to you my brothers and sisters that my husband and I climb up to the top and had champagne and made promises in front of our ever dear daughter Pearl.

One summer afternoon at Notre Dame de Paris with The O'Tooles

Some nice architectural details of the cathedral.

A gothic, Roman Catholic Cathedral and one of the world’s famous, historic and most visited cathedrals. Its finest French gothic architecture attracts more tourists to visit the said cathedral.

I can’t imagine myself going there as I know Paris, France is one of the most expensive cities in the world to visit. I have no budget to go there.

Yet, when I married to Ian who was a devoted catholic, who been in that cathedral many times singing in the choirs, when he was in primary school with his brother and best mates.

He took us (my daughter and I) last summer (2011) he was our tour guide. He says to me every time he comes in the cathedral he will cry especially to see Mother Theresa. By the way he went St. Teresa primary school in England. It makes sense to me why he cried for Mother Theresa in Notre dame.

I, myself is devoted catholic who wish to come and see some stunning cathedral like Notre dame. It was a dream comes true for me. We wish to attend at least one mass. But we couldn’t make it because we haven’t enough time to stay in Paris, 4 days isn’t enough to do things like going to the mass. As thousands of attractions and sceneries is waiting for us out-side.

It was a great day for the three of us.

When you heard the word Paris what comes in your mind?

Fashion Capital, Louis Vuitton, Hermes, Notre Dame and Eiffel Tower. I must say Paris is a tempting capital, extremely well-known for its cuisine, fashion, religion, art collections and architectural products.

One of the most famous is the Eiffel tower located in the heart of Paris. Now, the Eiffel Tower become the global icon of France which is an iron tower built on the Champ de Mars.

Here are some facts and figures:

Alexandre Gustave Eiffel - A French engineer who constructed the Eiffel Tower (1832-1923) the magnificent iron tower is the ultimate symbol of Eiffel's considerable skill and imagination.

Height: 300 m (984 ft.), the iron tower weights 10,100 tonnes. It has 18,000 metal sections and 2.5 rivets. There are 370 people committed suicides by jumping from the tower due to the incidents protective shields were installed in 1971.
Tourist can choose to climb the stairs in the south pillar to level one or level two or take one of the elevators.

Booking on-line is the best thing to do to avoid the long queue and disappointments. Summer is the perfect seasons to visit and the best time to go in the afternoon as virtually all the sights are open till late and the Eiffel tower glitters in all its glory after dark.
